Ram Nileshwar, Au.D., CCC-A, FAAA
Doctor of Audiology
Dr. Nileshwar has been a practicing audiologist in Lake Charles for over 29 years. He has been with The Hearing Center since its inception in 1987. He received his Bachelor's degree in Audiology and Speech Therapy from the University of Bombay, India, his Master's degree in Audiology from Western Michigan University, and his Doctor of Audiology degree (Au.D.) from Arizona School of Health Sciences of A.T. Still University.
Dr. Nileshwar holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. He specializes in hearing rehabilitation, including the fitting of both conventional and advanced digital hearing devices. He has expertise in diagnostic audiology, including the evaluation and management of disorders of hearing and balance.
The American Institute of Balance(r) recently recognized Dr. Nileshwar as a part of their international affiliate program. The Institute is nationally and internationally known for its expertise in testing and rehabilitation, helping thousands of patients who were told "learn to live with it" to return to normal lives. Dr. Nileshwar also works closely with ear, nose and throat physicians along with other specialists and healthcare professionals from the medical community in Southwest Louisiana. His combination of experience and professional dedication ensure the highest level of patient care at The Hearing Center of Lake Charles.
Kara Headington, Au.D., CCC-A
Doctor of Audiology
Doctor Headington obtained her Doctor of Audiology degree (Au.D.) from Arizona School of Health Sciences of A.T. Still University and has been a practicing audiologist since 2007. She joined The Hearing Center in 2011.
Kara holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology and is a current member of the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association. Dr. Headington specializes in balance and also earned a degree in Vestibular Assessment and Management from the American Institute of Balance. She has worked closely with neurologists, physical therapists, ENT's, primary care physicians and pediatricians.
In her free time, Kara enjoys cooking, watching football, playing golf, reading, and sewing. Originally from Louisiana, she and her husband Ed are proud parents to a son and a daughter.
